~Andy Who?~

I have maintained for many years that I managed to go all through my time at high school without anyone realising that I was actually there, such was my all-encompassing mediocrity.

Now I have the proof!!!!

I went to 'The Village' hotel tonight with a few people from the gym.

Whilst I was there, I saw a group of 3 women, all of whom were in my classes with me at school. I NEVER forget a face, so they were dead easy to spot. I couldn't resist popping over to say 'hi'.

Unfortunately, they hadn't a bloody clue who I was LOL!!! They could remember most of my friends, but not me. Then again, I daresay I've changed a bit since 1979.

They were very nice about it though and we spent a pleasant hour or so reminiscing about the old place.

One has to laugh ;-P

TONIGHT'S MOOD: Forgotten.

SOUNDTRACK: Simple Minds - 'Don't You Forget About Me'

FOOTNOTE: You never get a second chance to make a first impression.

  1. Sweetheart, your first impression on me was enough to make up for every other person you will ever meet in your life! They don't know what they missed! *kiss*

  2. I LOVE that song. It's safe to say that I remember more people than remember me. Kind of sad, isn't it? lol. Glad you posted this. I was just wondering about you today. ESP! Ha. Hugs.

  3. Did you maybe have hair back then? People change, y'know.... ;-)

I am, unfortunately, recognizable. The basics remain, though perhaps a bit uglier! I wouldn't have much to say to my schoolmates if I ran into any.

  4. Groover, I totally understand.

I recently tried joining Facebook in an attempt to hook up with some of my old high school classmates.

Talk about a waste of time. Nobody ever commented on my wall or commented on the old pictures I'd taken in photography class during my senior year.

Nothing. It was like I never even existed. Oh, when I'd speak to someone they'd be nice to me, sometimes, but sometimes they actually ignored me. Even my old childhood sweetheart never said hello. I was on her friends list too.

So, you're not alone, my friend, and I dare say you're way more accomplished than I am and much better looking too.

  5. Better to not be remembered that to be remembered in an unflattering light. Sometimes it can be hard to shake some dipshit things done during school years.

  6. Like Louise mentions, it may be better to not be remembered, then to be remembered in a very negative way. I was a wallflower at school... :-(

  8. I would be kind of proud that nobody recognized me or remembered who I was. I'm pretty sure that since I look pretty similar to how I looked in high school that someone might notice me. You graduated when I was born, though.

  9. I don't wish to connect with any school mates. I was a nobody then as now :-)

The Breakfast Club and Simple Minds were two of very few good things to come out of the 80s ;-)
